An antique wooden coffee/side table from Italy, dating to 1850–1900, with a square 37 cm top and 50 cm height, in good used condition with minor signs of age and stains.
Description from the seller
Charming low coffee table or living-room side table, of clear Italian artisanal craftsmanship dating to the late 19th century (19th century, the late 1800s). This piece stands out for the perfect fusion between the rustic style of the art of the poor and the solidity of period furniture. The upper square surface is made of beech wood with lamination, which gives a clean geometric texture and remarkable durability. The supporting structure and the underside rail are made of solid period wood (presumably stained poplar or ash), characterized by a warm brown tone. The true aesthetic highlight is the base: it rests on four sturdy legs finely turned into spindles (or baluster), a classic decorative motif of 19th‑century Italy that lends momentum and elegance to the structure. The legs are firmly connected by four peripheral stretchers (H-stretchers), which ensure the table’s perfect structural stability.
