Small Orthodox icon depicting Saint Pantaleon (Panteleimon), a physician-saint and healer highly venerated in Eastern tradition. The saint is presented frontally with traditional clothing and a medical tablet/box in his hand.
The icon features a golden background decorated with punched motifs, an ornamental element typical of devotional production from the late 19th to early 20th century. Tempera on wooden panel technique.
Conservation conditions are heavily compromised: widespread losses of preparation and gilding, lateral abrasions, detachments, and significant edge wear. Nevertheless, the saint’s face remains legible and decoratively pleasing.
A small work likely intended for private devotion or travel use.
Small Orthodox icon depicting Christ Pantocrator within a metal repoussé riza/oklad decorated with floral and radiant motifs. The face of Christ is painted, while the metallic cover envelops the rest of the composition according to the Russian devotional tradition.
The icon is placed inside a wooden case with a front glass, a typical feature of domestic devotional icons from the early 20th century.
Probably Russian production or from Eastern Europe, produced between the late 19th and early 20th century. The cover appears to be silvered metal or nickel silver, not mass silver in the photograph.
Fair condition with oxidation, wear to the wooden support, and signs of time consistent with age.
