Description from the seller
Byzantine Bronze Ring with Ring-and-Dot Decoration – 6th to 8th Century AD
A Byzantine bronze ring distinguished by a broad circular bezel decorated with a symmetrical arrangement of ring-and-dot motifs, consisting of concentric punched circles surrounding small raised or recessed central points. The large flat bezel is supported by a substantial hoop that widens toward the shoulders, creating a bold and balanced form characteristic of personal ornaments from the Early Byzantine period. The geometric decoration is simple but visually striking, while the surviving green and earthy patina, together with mineral deposits across the surface, gives the ring a strong archaeological character consistent with prolonged burial.
Material: Bronze
Dimensions: 1.7 x 1.6 cm
Weight: 2.43 gr
Provenance: Acquired in Germany at an Auction House.
We guarantee the authenticity of the pieces, backed by the combined experience of our experts spanning more than 40 years. A Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) will be sent digitally by email.
