Jørgen Kastholm designed the JK730 two‑seat sofa for Kill International in dark brown leather with a brushed flat steel frame, produced in Germany in the late 1960s, measuring 150 cm long, 74 cm high, 40 cm seating height and 86 cm deep, in excellent condition with minimal signs of wear.
Description from the seller
Beautiful, very high‑quality and comfortable Jørgen Kastholm model JK730 for Kill International, a two‑seater sofa in dark brown leather and brushed flat steel, Germany, late 1960s.
This unique and timeless design features a continuously chrome-plated frame with runners and the thick, dark brown, richly patinated leather in impeccable condition.
Because of the slightly reclining seating position and the curved armrests, the chair is incredibly comfortable.
The JK 730 series is especially exciting because it is not as frequently seen as the famous FK 6725 Tulip Chair or the Grasshopper Chaise. It comes from Kastholm’s mature phase and beautifully shows the transition from classic Danish wooden design to an international architectural language of form in steel and leather. As a result, it is less well known among collectors, yet precisely for that reason often particularly valued.
