This is a vintage Japanese silk geisha doll, a piece from Lu Ping's Handmade Workshop, over 20 years old. The handmade silk sculpted face conveys a gentle and graceful expression. The kimono is made of gold-thread jacquard brocade fabric with large, ornate peony patterns; the gold thread brocade itself exudes elegance. The body and obi (sash) are hand-sewn, with natural, three-dimensional folds.

The hair is complete, with the original headdress, beaded flowers, and hair accessories. The doll holds a gold fan, and all accessories are present and intact. It comes with a black base for stability. The doll is 40cm tall and has a substantial size.

Uses: Suitable for display in Japanese tea rooms, entryways, or on antique shelves; also a folk art collectible; and as a unique decorative piece.
