Description from the seller
KIADE – AREVA Challenge FRA-93 – America’s Cup 2007 – Half Hull 1/50 – 62 cm
Superb handcrafted half-model of the competition sailboat AREVA Challenge FRA-93, produced by KIADE Maquettes at a 1/50 scale.
This piece represents the FRA-93 AREVA Challenge, the Class America entered by the French team during the 32nd America’s Cup in Valencia in 2007.
The model reproduces the hull of the boat in AREVA Challenge livery, with the various logos of the historic partners visible on the hull, notably AREVA, DCN, Le Figaro, Canal+, Aigle and Gandia.
The model is presented as a wall-mounted half-hull on a wooden display panel. Its very slender silhouette and its substantial length of 62 cm make it a particularly decorative piece.
The plaque on the stand reads:
“Half Hull scale 1/50 – entirely handcrafted by KIADE maquettes”
It is a notably interesting item as it identifies the manufacturer and notes that the half-hull was entirely handmade.
