Canon FTb QL with FD 50mm f/1.8 S.C., in good physical condition and tested and working.
Description from the seller
CANON FTb QL Black + FD 50mm F1.8 S.C., tested and working.
Hello from Japan!
We provide high-quality cameras and lenses to the world.
The Canon FTb QL (1971) is a robust, all-mechanical 35mm SLR from Canon’s FD-mount era, with TTL metering and Canon’s Quick Loading (QL) system for fast, reliable film loading. The black finish is the less common and more sought-after version. It is offered here with the Canon FD 50mm f/1.8 S.C., the compact standard lens of the system.
Important — please read carefully:
The viewfinder shows prism corrosion and the lens has light haze. Please review the photos and consider this before bidding.
Condition: Used — Good
Pre-owned, heavy signs of use, or minor optical flaws
Serial Number
Please check the photo.
Appearance
Scuffs and scratches from normal use. Please check the photos for details.
Optical Condition
Finder: Prism corrosion is visible in the viewfinder. Cleaned internally.
Lens: Light haze on the FD 50mm f/1.8 S.C. See photos.
Functional
Power and light meter work; the meter reads about 1 to 1.5 stops bright (+1.6 EV at EV12, +1.1 EV at EV15).
The shutter and film transport work. Measured: 1 s = 0.9 s, 1/60 = 1/58, 1/1000 = 1/898.
The light seals have been replaced and the viewfinder cleaned internally.
Measured Performance
We check these cameras on a shutter tester rather than by ear, and we publish what we measured:
- 1 s — measured 1/0.9 s (approx. 0.2 stop slow)
- 1/60 — measured 1/58 s (on the mark)
- 1/1000 — measured 1/898 s (approx. 0.2 stop slow)
- Light meter accuracy — EV12: 1.6 OVER / EV15: 1.1 OVER
Negative film has enough latitude to absorb deviations of this size, but the figures are here so you can judge for yourself.
Servicing
This camera was serviced by us before listing:
- Light seals (foam) replaced
- Viewfinder cleaned internally
Known Issues
1. Prism corrosion is visible in the viewfinder; composing and focusing are still possible.
2. Light haze in the lens; expect slightly lower contrast against strong light.
Bundled Items
Camera body, FD 50mm f/1.8 S.C. and lens cap, as pictured.
