What is special about olive wood is that the tree may only be used when it no longer bears olives. This is usually after 100 years. Laguiole
The famous knife from France is originally a beautiful functional pocket knife. Laguiole is not a brand name, but a reference to a French village. It was designed with as a starting point a Spanish pocket knife named navaja and a locally French dagger called capuchadou.
