Erwin Merkle - Erwin Merkle - Storage trunk - Vertreterkoffer - Faux leather, wood, metal, velvet - Presentation Suitcase
An exceptional and rare vintage professional presentation / representative suitcase (Vertreterkoffer) manufactured by the renowned German quality specialist Erwin Merkle Kofferfabrik, based in Pforzheim. Historically, Pforzheim is famous as the golden heart of Germany's jewelry and watchmaking industry, and Merkle was the go-to producer for high-end transport and display equipment.
This heavy-duty, artisan-crafted case features a black faux-leather textured exterior with a sturdy top handle, robust metal latches, and secure locks.
The interior is lined with premium, soft black velvet, designed to protect luxury goods. A notable design highlight is the drop-front panel secured by a continuous brass piano hinge, which allows effortless access to the contents. The sides feature original integrated slotted tracks meant for sliding display trays or drawers (perfect for watch displays, jewelry slots, or optical collections).
The original manufacturer's metal plaque is intact at the back hinge, reading: "Erwin Merkle, Kofferfabrik, D-7530 Pforzheim".
An incredibly stylish item for collectors, high-end display setups, or interior decoration.
