Icon - Christ Pantocrator - Wood, Brass

Russian Orthodox icon depicting Christ Pantocrator, painted on a wooden panel and fitted with an embossed gilt-metal oklad. Christ is shown frontally in the traditional blessing pose, with the metal covering richly worked with geometric borders, radiating halo, and engraved details to the vestments and cross. The exposed painted areas display pronounced age-related craquelure and surface wear, while the metal cover retains a warm, time-softened gilt patina with areas of oxidation and rubbing. Several openings and losses to the oklad are visible, consistent with age and use.
