A beautiful mid-19th century porcelain tea set by Grainger Worcester, dating to circa 1850.
Each piece is finely hand-painted with vibrant floral sprays, featuring richly coloured red blossoms, delicate shaded leaves, and soft botanical detailing. The cup displays striking red Salvia (Scarlet Sage), while the saucer and plate are adorned with poppies and Geranium in warm tones. All pieces are framed with an elegant gilt scroll border, carefully applied and characteristic of early Worcester decorative taste.
The underside bears the impressed G G W (George Grainger Worcester) mark enclosed within a shield, confirming the factory attribution.
The combination of finely potted form, confident brushwork, and refined gilding makes this an attractive example of early Grainger Worcester production — ideal for collectors of English porcelain.
Condition:
Very good antique condition with minor age-related wear to the gilding and minimal light surface scratches. No crazing, damage, or restoration.
