Canon Cine-camera Super 8 Canosound 514XL-S with Zoom Lens C-8 9-45mm f/1.4 Macro

Professional Canon Canosound 514XL-S Super 8 sound camera, produced by the famous Japanese house, equipped with a Canon C-8 9-45mm f/1.4 Macro zoom lens with built-in lens hood and manual focus ring (distance scale in meters from 1.2 to infinity) and EE Lock ring for automatic exposure lock.

The camera body, fully coated in black textured faux leather, features a complete control panel typical of high-end sound cine cameras: battery check indicator with battery level scale, playback speed selector (18/24 fps), audio level regulator with dedicated knob, TONE selector (Clear/Soft) for sound quality, jack inputs for MIC, MONITOR and REMOTE with provision for SILENT FILM. There is also the main ON/OFF/RL (Run/Lock) switch and a rear hatch for the Super 8 cassette with sound cartridge, accompanied by the original English and Japanese safety instructions.

The ergonomic pistol grip, covered in non-slip ribbed rubber, and the comfortable wrist strap complete a set intended for professional run-and-gun shooting of the era.

A piece of great interest for vintage cine-camera collectors and enthusiasts of amateur/semi-professional Super 8 cinematography, also excellent as a display object for the charm of Canon design from the 1970s/1980s.

Condition: used, good overall condition with normal signs of wear (textured faux leather covering intact, small marks on the grip); zoom mechanics and manual controls feel smooth to the touch. Electrical/shooting functionality not tested.
