BABY CAT
French-Swiss painter Thoma Vuille (a.k.a. Mr. CHAT) was born in Boudry, in the canton of Neuchâtel, in 1977. He produced his first street art works in acrylic when he was only 15, in memory of his grandfather, a building painter.
These traits and this spirit, almost childish, come from the very source of his initial inspiration: a feline and laughing figure, drawn by a little girl when he was in a classroom in Orléans in 1997. Afterwards, he decided to disseminate the image of the tomcat on the walls of Orléans, with the sole objective of "putting humanity and love into the city". If, at first glance, Mr. CHAT may resemble a logo, due to the simplicity of his drawing and his "cartoony silhouette", he embodies much more, delighting us as much as he captivates us when, by chance during our urban wanderings, his Dantean smile suddenly appears.
A figure that has become emblematic of French street art, Thoma Vuille progressively multiplies the images of his yellow acolyte on all supports: facing forward or in profile, winged or simply suspended in the air or calmly installed between two chimneys.
His emblematic cat, recognizable by its distinctive yellow color and its big smile, is now available in 3D.
