Biography
Ottmar Hörl studied at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main and with Klaus Rinke at the Kunstakademie in Düsseldorf. Since 1999 he has been a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg. The German conceptual artist works with a variety of forms of expression and became internationally known through his time-limited large-scale projects with serially manufactured sculptures in public spaces. Art is for Ottmar Hörl an organizational principle and an occasion for communication; it should provoke thought and have an impact on society.
