Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
A pair of neoclassical brass candlesticks in the Corinthian column style, made of solid brass from Italy and dated to 1910–1920, each 24 cm high with a 9 cm square base, in good used condition with minor signs of age.
Description from the seller
In this auction, a pair of neoclassical candlesticks in solid brass, crafted in the Corinthian column style, a classic decorative motif inspired by Greco-Roman architecture and widely reproduced from the late eighteenth to the twentieth centuries. The top (capital) of each candlestick is finely chased to reproduce a detailed Corinthian capital, characterized by the typical curved acanthus leaves that support the upper socket for inserting the candle.
The central body consists of a slender, fully fluted column, which lends verticality and geometric rigor to the structure. The pillar rests on a solid circular fluted base, which in turn integrates into a wide stepped square base. This base features a relief work with vertical geometric motifs and fan decorations or goffers.
A widespread and natural patina of time is evident, darkening the recesses of the flutes and the details of the capital, enhancing the three-dimensionality of the chased details.
Height 24 cm
