Description from the seller

IN RISALTO:
• Iconic Porsche 911 (964) Carrera 4 with permanent all-wheel drive (1990)
• Equipped with the legendary 3.6-liter boxer engine (250 HP) and manual transmission
• Italian car kept indoors since 2021 within a private collection
• Shows approximately 147,630 km and comes with historical maintenance invoices
• Restoration/restoration project ideal for collectors or industry professionals

STORIA/PANORAMICA:
The Porsche 911 of the 964 series, introduced in the late 1980s and designed with the contribution of Benjamin Dimson, represented a major turning point for the Stuttgart marque, renewing about 85% of components compared to the previous 3.2 series. The Carrera 4 version was the first series-produced 911 to adopt permanent all-wheel drive, derived from the mature experience with the supercar 959.

This 1990 example boasts a fascinating and transparent history: purchased by a single passionate owner, it was then inherited by the uncle and subsequently by the niece, always remaining within the family circle. Kept indoors since 2021 within a private collection, the car records about 147,630 km on the odometer. Today it presents as a solid and authentic restoration project for Porsche enthusiasts and specialists.

CARROZZERIA/VERNICIATURA:
The bodywork presents as needing restoration and repainting ("bodywork down"), showing evident cosmetic defects related to time, disuse, and age. The chassis, however, remains a healthy, straight, and structurally solid base for sheet metal work and painting.

INTERNI:
The cabin remains in fair/good overall condition for the car’s age. The coverings, panels, and original instrumentation retain an antique patina and show the normal, physiological signs of wear commensurate with time and use.

MECCANICA:
The air-cooled 3.6-liter boxer engine (250 HP) and the manual transmission require a general mechanical restoration. The engine has not been started since 2021; due to the long idle, typical oil seepage/leaks of the inactive 964 engine are present.

Before the first start, the car requires:

* Full service (replacement of all fluids, filters, spark plugs, belts)
* Battery replacement (currently exhausted)
* Cleaning and draining of the fuel tank
* Complete overhaul of the braking system and the high-pressure hydraulic circuit of the all-wheel-drive system

DOCUMENTI:
The car is supplied with Italian documents already deregistered for EU export. There are maintenance invoices from previous years confirming mileage:

* 141,362 km in 2006
* 141,700 km in 2008
* 145,988 km in 2011

The car is viewable and pick-upable in Spello (PG), Italy.

Disclaimer

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
