Description from the seller
IN RISALTO:
• Iconic Fiat 124 Spider 2000 from 1980 produced by Pininfarina with a 2.0-liter dual-cam engine
• Registered in the ASI historic register
• Periodic inspection carried out in September 2026 with normal outcome
• Equipped with original magnesium alloy Cromodora wheels
• Fitted with black water-repellent fabric folding top and new battery installed in September 2026
STORIA/PANORAMICA:
The Fiat 124 Spider 2000 represents one of the most famous and elegant Italian open-top cars conceived by Pininfarina, powered by the long-serving 2.0-liter dual-overhead-cam Fiat engine fueled by a twin-body carburetor. This USA-spec example spent part of its life in the United States (where it had two owners) before being reimported to Italy in 2020, and currently belongs to its sole Italian owner. The car is ASI-listed, underwent a full service in 2026 and was subjected to regular periodic inspection in September 2026. The five-digit odometer indicates approximately 18,228 miles.
CARROZZERIA/VERNICIATURA:
The bodywork is in overall excellent condition, retaining original sheet metal. The car is finished in a pastel red shade (applied under a previous owner replacing the original Metallic Slate Gray). There are minimal scratches, small cracks, and limited spots of paint with chips or bubbles. The magnesium alloy wheels are the original Cromodora, paired with tires in excellent condition. The badges, identifying lettering, moldings, side reflectors and front/rear lights are all in order. The glass, windshield and seals show no significant imperfections. The black water-repellent fabric top is well preserved and free from tears. The underbody and sills remain intact and free of rust.
INTERNI:
The cabin is tidy and trimmed in black vinyl. The dashboard and instruments retain coordinated wood-effect inserts, Pininfarina badge, a locked glove compartment, and vintage Veglia analog instrumentation (speedometer with a 85 mph full-scale and tachometer up to 8,000 rpm). The carpet and interior trims show no damage. Equipment includes an AM/FM/cassette radio, manual window cranks and manually adjustable exterior mirrors. The rear compartment houses the new battery (replaced on 09/09/2026), the jack, and the original scissor spare wheel kit.
MECCANICA:
The car is equipped with the 2.0-liter twin-overhead-cam Fiat engine, paired with the standard 5-speed manual gearbox. The engine starts regularly and idles smoothly without abnormal noises; all gears engage correctly. The engine bay is clean and free of visible leaks. The vehicle recently benefited from a general service and battery replacement.
DOCUMENTI:
The car is delivered with proper ownership transfer documents and certification of registration in the ASI Historic Register.
The car is located in Torella del Sannio (Campobasso), Italy, and is available for viewing and test drive by appointment with Catawiki. The seller is available to organize transport and shipment within Italy or abroad through a specialized company, in addition to providing logistics assistance for export paperwork (costs payable by the buyer).

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
