The Beomaster 4000 was positioned above the Beomaster 3000-2. In addition to the many functions of the 3000-2, it offered built-in ambiphonic stereo switching, connections for a second recorder and, more importantly, more power. With a power of 60W, the Beomaster 4000 was as powerful as the previous Beolab 5000 system.
