Lot Description:
In the auction, an elegant and rare living room set composed of a pair of high-back armchairs and a coordinating ottoman with a reclining mechanism, dating to the second half of the 19th century (Louis Philippe / Voltaire Style).
The chairs are made of solid walnut wood of excellent quality, characterized by sinuous lines, elegant turned front legs, and finely carved arms with partial upholstery.
The true item of value and rarity of this lot is the small accessory ottoman, also coordinated in structure and fabric, equipped with a perfectly functioning reclining mechanism.
State of preservation:
The set is presented in excellent structural and conservation conditions. The wood is healthy, robust, stable and completely free of woodworms or cracks. The upholstery fabric, a refined damask floral pattern in earth tones, was recently redone (early 2000s).
It is clean, taut, hygienic and completely free of stains, tears or visible signs of wear. The set is ready to be placed in interiors and used immediately.
