The top is crowned by an openwork gallery with clover motifs and Gothic arcades.
A lock entry with a foliate escutcheon completes the façade.
The interior is lined with original purple silk velvet, the inner wall equipped with small suspension hooks.
Mark stamp impressed in relief under the base: "MAINFROY-THIBAULT / VERSAILLES".
Preserved with its original bronze key.
("Bel état de conservation, usure d'usage à la dorure, velours intérieur bien préservé")
