Description from the seller
HIGHLIGHTS:
• Extremely rare Conrero Challenge edition based on the 916-generation GTV (Car Number 3 of only 5 ever built)
• Upgraded 3.0-litre 24V Busso V6 engine tuned by Conrero to 280 hp
• Preserved in time-warp condition; dry stored in a UK collection since 2020 after import from Japan
• Conrero visual package including bespoke body kit, quad-tip exhaust, and lightweight alloy wheels
HISTORY/OVERVIEW:
The Alfa Romeo GTV Conrero Challenge is an ultra-rare, high-performance variant of the 916-generation GTV built in the late 1990s by the legendary Italian racing team and tuning house Conrero. Created primarily for the Japanese market based on the 1997 MY GTV, it stood as the fastest mass-produced road-going Alfa Romeo prior to the release of the limited-run 8C Competizione. This specific vehicle is chassis Number 3 of only 5 units ever produced. Imported from Japan to the UK in 2020, it has been kept in dry storage within a private collection and presents in remarkable, time-warp condition without any prior body repairs or accident history in either jurisdiction.
BODYWORK/PAINT:
The paintwork is in very good condition throughout. The rubber seals, windows, chrome elements, and light lenses are all in very good order. The car retains its unique Conrero visual upgrades, featuring an aggressive body kit with a custom front lower lip spoiler, an upgraded rear spoiler, lightweight alloy wheels, bespoke quad-tip dual exhaust pipes, and original "Conrero Challenge" badging.
INTERIOR:
The cabin is presented in exceptional condition, with all upholstery, seats, headliner, dashboard, and door cards remaining original as supplied by Conrero. Unlike typical period Alfa Romeos, all electrical systems are fully operational with no current faults or issues reported.
MECHANICS:
Under the bonnet is the iconic 3.0-litre 24V Busso V6 engine, heavily tuned by Conrero from the standard 220 hp up to 280 hp. Power is delivered via a manual transmission, achieving 0–100 km/h in 6.3 seconds with a top speed of 250 km/h. Mechanical components—including brakes, tyres, suspension, belts, and clutch—are in good condition. The engine starts on the first turn and runs smoothly and responsively, with excellent engine and gearbox performance.
DOCUMENTS:
The vehicle comes with its original handbooks and Japanese service sheets. In Japan, the mandatory bi-annual Shaken inspection serves as official verification of strict, ongoing maintenance.
The vehicle can be viewed and picked up. Bids do not include transportation or export costs unless stated otherwise. Arranging transport, transfer of ownership, and any applicable export/COC fees are the responsibility of the buyer.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
