2022 1 Onza Mexican Silver Libertad Coin BU Year: 2022 Grade: BU - Brilliant Uncirculated Denomination: 1 onza Mint Mark: Mo - Mexico City Metal Content: 1 troy oz Purity: .999 Fine Silver Manufacturer: Banco de Mexico Thickness: 3 mm Diameter: 40 mm Silver Mexican Libertads have incredibly low mintages for bullion coins and their newer design is second to none. Get them while you can! The Mexican Silver Libertads are Mexico's Silver Bullion coins and are rapidly gaining popularity in the United States and around the world which makes them more and more difficult to come by. The design shows the volcanic mountains of Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl which holds, according to legend, the final resting place of Princess Iztaccihuatl. The princess died during the Mexican Independence War after a story similar to that of Romeo and Juliet. She was in love with the enemy warrior Popocatepetl but, because of the disgreements between their families, they were never able to be together. Again not unlike Juliet, Princess Iztaccihuatl's death was caused by a broken heart when she heard that he had been killed in battle but it is said that to this day, the warrior still keeps a watchful eye over her grave. The Libertad is Mexico's treasure coin and is minted at Casa de Moneda de Mexico which translates to "the House of Mexican Money". This is the oldest Mint in North America and was established in 1535. These magnificent brilliant uncirculated .999 fine Silver
