ICA Bébé subminiature camera from around 1910–1920, in good vintage condition and tested as working, featuring the original Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar 1:4.5 f=7.5cm lens and the extended side-view finder with its original optical block.
Description from the seller
Up for auction: a splendid, rare, and historically valuable vintage subminiature camera for glass plates—the ICA Bébé, produced in Germany by the famous ICA in Dresden during the 1910s (circa 1912–1914).
The lot presents in good overall vintage condition, perfectly mechanically functional, and is complete with its original Carl Zeiss Jena optical block and the extensible side-view finder.
Optics: The camera is equipped with the prestigious, ultra-clear, and renowned original Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar 1:4.5 f=7.5 cm lens. The lenses show no deep scratches; only a normal, widespread light vintage patina due to time, entirely natural for a piece of this age, which does not compromise its historical importance and immense collecting appeal.
Mechanics: The lot is mechanically functional in manual operation. The central mechanical shutter responds correctly to commands, firing regularly.
Aesthetics: Good general vintage condition, as clearly documented by the photographs. The solid and robust die-cast aluminum body preserves a strong vintage visual impact. Normal signs of use are present on the leather.
Tracked international shipping, fully insured and professionally super-protective packaging to ensure maximum safety during transport.
