Description from the seller

Christofle – Cluny – Large Ragout / Serving Spoon – Silver Plated – France – Early 20th Century

An elegant large serving spoon from the renowned French silversmith Christofle, crafted in the timeless Cluny pattern. The refined silhouette, clean lines and balanced proportions make Cluny one of Christofle's most enduring and recognisable flatware designs.

This versatile serving spoon was originally intended for serving ragout, vegetables, potatoes or other warm dishes, but is equally suitable today as a refined serving utensil for festive dinners and elegant table settings.

The spoon bears the early Christofle hallmarks, including the famous CC balance hallmark, identifying production before the introduction of the later OC hallmark, placing the piece in the early twentieth century (circa 1900–1935).

The silver plating remains beautifully preserved with a warm original lustre.

Condition
Very good antique condition with only light superficial traces of careful use, consistent with age. Please study the photographs carefully as they form an integral part of the description.

Dimensions

Length: approx. 27.5 cm
Bowl width: approx. 5.5 cm

A refined and practical piece from one of France's most prestigious silver houses, equally suited for everyday elegance or an exceptional dining table. Perfect for collectors of Christofle silver plate, classic French tableware and sophisticated interior decoration in the Elle Decoration style.
