Description from the seller
Old Rectangular Copper Jardinière / Flower Box – Victorian Style. Large in size.
Important elongated rectangular jardinière (jardinière) made of solid copper. The piece stands out for its refined applications in contrasting metal (brass/bronze), featuring movable side handles in ring form suspended by imposing decorative relief masks in the shape of a lion’s head. It rests elegantly on four ornamental claw-foot feet.
Good overall condition aesthetically and structurally, preserving a natural ancient patina highly valued, with occasional age-related oxidations (verdigris inside and at the base) that give it character and authenticity.
