GENERAL:
This lovely 1972 Volkswagen T1 is available to be enjoyed. The odometer shows 20,000 kilometers.
Historical note: The Volkswagen Transporter T1 is one of the great icons in automotive history, globally associated with the countercultural movement of the 1960s and 1970s. Although production of the T1 ceased in Germany in 1967 with the arrival of the T2, at the Volkswagen do Brasil plant production continued (with subtle modifications and specific windows) until 1975. This makes early-70s units particularly curious and sought-after, combining the aesthetic charm of the original “Splitscreen” design (split windshield) with the brand’s traditional mechanical robustness.
BODYWORK AND PAINT:
The bodywork presents a very good visual appearance, although it should be noted that its restoration was not carried out by a professional expert. It underwent a cosmetic facelift in which a lot of body filler was used, so it currently shows some cracks. We could describe the overall condition of the body as acceptable, but it does not feature a professional-level restoration.
MECHANICS:
Its mechanicals are functioning perfectly. A complete maintenance has recently been performed, including the replacement of the fuel pump and a carburetor adjustment. The braking system performs its function correctly, and all electrical components, such as lights and indicators, work flawlessly.
INTERIOR:
The interior is in much better condition than the exterior. All seats have been reupholstered, it can be converted to a bed, and it has a dining table for inside meals. The carpets were replaced at some point and are kept in very good condition.
DOCUMENTATION:
The vehicle has all the paperwork in order, fully ready for transfer within Spain or to arrange its export deregistration to any other country.
