Description from the seller
Rare dinner service from 1948 produced by Richard Ginori and decorated with a refined motif in blue tones.
The service is for 10 people and consists of 10 flat plates with a diameter of 21 cm.
At the center of each small plate is depicted a suggestive Romantic taste landscape, with farmhouses and architectures immersed in vegetation, trees, elevations and natural vistas. The various views are rendered through dense hatchings and a rich variety of blue shades, which give depth and movement to the scenes.
The central landscape is enclosed by a thin garland of small vegetal elements, while the rim is left predominantly white and decorated by a second border with dotted vegetal motifs. Particularly characteristic is the outer edge, wavy and outlined by dense radial hatchings in blue, which create an almost brushstroke effect and enhance the shaped form of the plate.
Light signs of craquelure on some of the plates.
Richard Ginori mark on the reverse.
