Description from the seller
Mario Galanti — "Return of the Fishermen in the Golden Gulf"
Size: 40 × 50 cm
A sky lit by the last glow of the sun overlooks a gulf alive with boats, fishermen and sails. On the horizon, the profile of Vesuvius emerges in violet tones, while the buildings on the left gather along the coast, dotted with illuminated windows and a thin sequence of lights along the promenade.
In the foreground, the vessels show oars, nets and figures engaged in fishing activities. Their arrangement on multiple planes creates depth and leads toward the distant boats. The diagonals of the oars introduce movement, in dialogue with the waves that reach the shore and break among the rocks.
The golden light reflects on the water, forming a luminous path between the sky and the beach. The deep blues, browns and purples make the oranges and yellows of the sunset even more intense. The painting thus intertwines the concrete presence of everyday work with a poetic vision of the marine landscape.
