Antique brass pharmacy mortar, with its pestle, in good condition as shown in the photos.
The flared body features horizontal ribs and two relief medallions.
Designed as an inverted bell with a marked foot, it was the standard construction for the castings of the historic apothecary manufactories of the era.
Pestle dimensions: length 17.5 cm, width of the two heads 3 cm, shaft diameter 1.5 cm.
