Sony - TA-E1000ESD Preamplifier

The Sony TA-E1000ESD is a legendary and progressive digital high-end preamplifier from the famous Sony ES (Elevated Standard) series, produced between 1989 and 1992. The device was known at the time as a technological feat because it converted analog signals to digital to process sound adjustments completely loss-free via a built-in DSP (Digital Signal Processor). Because it is a pure preamplifier, the device does not contain a built-in power amplifier; so you should always connect it to a separate power amplifier (such as the associated Sony TA-N220 or TA-N55ES) or active speakers. Key Features & Specifications Digital Signal Processing (DSP): Equipped with Sony's own CXD1355Q chips. This allows you to manually adjust the acoustics, including a digital 3-band parametric equalizer (±12 dB) and a dynamic compressor/expander (9 steps). Surround & Space Simulations: Features early Dolby Pro Logic surround decoding and has 10 pre-programmed soundfields (such as Hall, Church, Stadium, Jazz Club) plus 10 manual memory locations. Conversion: Built-in high-density 1-bit A/D converter (48 kHz sampling) and an 18-bit linear D/A converter at the front. Connections: Very extensive with 5 audio line inputs, a Phono input (only suitable for Moving Magnet / MM cartridges), 3 optical and 1 coaxial digital input, and separate pre-outs for Front, Rear, Center and a Subwoofer. Build quality: Typical heavy Japanese ES build quality (weight of 8.0 kg) with a motorized volume knob that physically turns with the remote control. Unit has been tested and operational! All pictures are original of this lot and part of description!
