Description from the seller
In this section we present a piece of great prestige and charm: a Montblanc 1858 Iced Sea Automatic Date in the highly sought-after emerald green color. A timepiece that combines high sporty horology with a hypnotic naturalistic design.
This watch is Montblanc's first professional diver certified (ISO 6425), but it is famous mainly for its revolutionary dial. The manufacture has managed to recreate the three-dimensional texture, the veining, and the depth of glacial ice (inspired by the Mer de Glace in Mont Blanc) through a complex and ancient artisanal technique called gratté-boisé. The deep emerald green color captures the light, evoking the reflections of alpine lakes surrounded by glaciers.
The technical setup is flawless. The 41 mm stainless steel case is topped by a unidirectional green two-tone ceramic bezel, glossy and scratch-resistant. The watch is water-resistant up to 30 ATM (300 meters), and the solid case back features a magnificent 3D laser engraving depicting a diver and an iceberg. Indices and hands are generously filled with Super-LumiNova for perfect legibility in the dark, as documented in the photos. The heart is the automatic movement Calibre MB 24.17.
The conservational state is to be considered in excellent condition (excellent). The watch has been preserved with extreme care. The sapphire crystal and the ceramic bezel insert are immaculate, without any marks. The stainless steel case is brilliant and robust. On the bracelet and, particularly, on the deployant clasp, there are only extremely rare, negligible, and almost imperceptible micro-scratches (hairlines) on the surface due to normal, meticulous handling of the item, which do not detract from its beauty. The engraved caseback is also perfectly crisp."
