Description from the seller
Grand liturgical chalice with paten “Agnus Dei”, red stones and original case – ca. 1970–1980
Important liturgical Eucharistic chalice from the second half of the 20th century, made with rich ornamental work in a neogothic/baroque taste. The chalice presents a particularly solid and heavy structure, weighing about 1.1 kg for the chalice alone, a feature that underlines its build quality and remarkable presence. The large poly-lobed base is finely relief-decorated with vegetal and ornamental motifs and is embellished with faceted red stones, also reflected on the central knot of the stem. The stem, articulated and richly worked, leads to the cup decorated with elegant floral motifs and scrolls. The upper part of the cup features bright gilding, visible also inside, creating a refined contrast with the silvered surface of the body. The chalice is complete with its original gilded paten, decorated with the sacred image and the inscription “Agnus Dei”, as well as the original case. A liturgical object of great decorative impact, suitable both for a sacred art collection and as a strong feature in a classical, eclectic or contemporary setting.
Measurements:
Height: 25 cm
Foot diameter: 14 cm
Paten diameter: 14 cm
Weight of the chalice alone: about 1,100 g
Era: about 1970–1980.
Condition: excellent overall condition, with very slight signs compatible with age and use. The gilding is bright and the decorations are well preserved. Please examine the photographs carefully, which are an integral part of the description. Complete with original paten and case.
The item will be carefully packed with professional materials, with particular attention to protecting the most delicate parts.
