Description from the seller
Original Junghans mechanical mantel clock, produced in Germany, equipped with the Junghans W278 mechanism.
The clock features an elegant, classic wooden case with a distinctive arched shape. The front is adorned with a large circular dial with Arabic numerals and gilded hands. The dial is protected by opening convex glass doors with a metal frame.
Inside there is the original mechanical mechanism branded with the Junghans mark and the designation W278. The mechanism is wound with a small key, which is included in the set.
The clock has been checked and is functioning. When the mechanism is wound, it runs, the clock ticks, and the hands move correctly. The striking mechanism is also functional – on the hour the clock strikes the appropriate number of strokes, e.g., at 12:00 it makes 12 strikes.
The clock retains its authentic vintage character. The wooden case shows natural signs of age and use, particularly scratches, wear, and characteristic crazing of the old varnish surface. They were not masked or renewed. The condition of the clock, case, and mechanism is shown in detail in the photos.
