Antique pocket balance from France, model trébuchet XVIIIe, made of brass, wood and steel, dating to 1750–1800, dimensions 12 x 5 x 2 cm, weight 90 g, single item, in good used condition with minor aging, in working order.

Very beautiful and highly sought-after, the smallest of the eighteenth-century portable money-changer scales, easily transportable, concealed in a pocket used by master goldsmiths when purchasing gold or silver coins to estimate their weight; hence, glued to the lid one discovers a table of gold and silver coins that circulate in the different countries of Europe. Meanwhile, the inner compartment sculpted in the mass contains a small folding trebuchet, a small arrowhead missing I think, with strings and its brass cups and a Godet-type weight pile for the weights.
