Elegant antique oval box adorned on the lid with a painted miniature depicting very likely the Château de Digoine in Palinges, in Saône-et-Loire.
The scene shows the château façade with its two characteristic circular towers, viewed from the park and the pond. In the foreground stand a couple in period costume, as well as a small boat on the pond, giving the whole a romantic character typical of the 19th century. A very beautiful collectible object, decorative and refined, with a finely executed miniature and a gilded frame.
Dimensions: 8.5 × 6.5 × 3 cm.

Élégante boîte ovale ancienne ornée sur le couvercle d’une miniature peinte représentant très probablement le Château de Digoine à Palinges, en Saône-et-Loire.
La scène montre la façade du château avec ses deux tours circulaires caractéristiques, vue depuis le parc et la pièce d’eau. Au premier plan figurent un couple en costume d’époque ainsi qu’une barque sur l’étang, donnant à l’ensemble un caractère romantique typique du XIXe siècle. Très bel objet de collection, décoratif et raffiné, avec une miniature finement exécutée et un encadrement doré.
