STORIA / PANORAMICA
The 1981 Fiat 124 Spider America represents one of the latest evolutions of the famous spider designed by Tom Tjaarda for Pininfarina. The example offered in auction was registered in 1981, equipped with a 2,000 cc injection engine and a 5-speed manual transmission. It comes in its original color Metallic Gray Silver, with blue leather interiors and with the technical inspection recently passed without any defects.
ESTERNO
The bodywork was professionally restored a few years ago in the original color Metallic Gray Silver 678 and today presents in lovely overall condition, with minimal signs of use and aging. The exterior finishes are well preserved and a polishing and detailing treatment was recently completed, making the car well presented. A thickness gauge check did not reveal any signs of accidents.
The undercarriage is very solid, generally well preserved and without signs of accidents. The front and rear boot compartments are also in solid original condition and free from corrosion traces.
INTERNO
The interiors, largely original, are well preserved and show only minor signs of wear. The blue leather seats are rare and original and are in beautiful condition. The cabin is complete and usable, as is the dashboard with all original details and the typical steering wheel of the series. The soft top opens and closes smoothly. The original tonneau cover is also present.
MECCANICA
The 2,000 cc injected engine is original as indicated by the registration certificate, and it runs. The car drives pleasantly; the 5-speed manual gearbox and the clutch are functioning well as are the brakes. The last technical inspection was just passed without defects valid until October 2028. General maintenance checks are advised before normal use as with all collectible vehicles.
The Fiat 124 Spider America today represents a particularly interesting version of the famous Italian spider, characterized by the 2,000 cc injected engine, the 5-speed manual gearbox, and the America-specific configuration. The original color Metallic Gray Silver 678, blue leather interiors, the original engine and good overall condition contribute to making this example a pleasant testimony to the latest evolutions of the 124 Spider.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
