Sitzendorf - Figurine - Venditore di frutta - Porcelain

Statue of a street vendor with baskets of fruit.
Mark: Sitzendorf Manufactory (Germany, Thuringia). Under the base is the characteristic mark "S" surmounted by a crown, usually painted blue under the glaze.
Material: Fine polychrome porcelain, molded and hand-painted with a glossy enamel finish.
Details and Condition.
The sculpture echoes the typical 18th-century-inspired Rococo aesthetic, highly favored by the German manufactory for its pastoral or popular subjects. The boy balances a wooden yoke to transport the baskets of fruit, and the base is enriched with the classic small flowers in relief applied by hand.
