Description from the seller
GENERAL
A very neat Volkswagen Beetle 1200 from 1965, both inside and out. A car as we like them: well cared for, original and with a particularly beautiful story.
The Beetle is in nice condition and has a wonderful original interior. The paintwork also looks particularly well cared for. The 1200 cc engine starts immediately and the car drives very nicely. A delightful Beetle to drive and enjoy.
What makes this car truly special is the enormous amount of original history that accompanies the car. So much documentation we rarely see on a Beetle of this age.
EXTERIOR:
The bodywork and paint look cared for. If you view the car very critically, there are obviously a few small points of attention visible that fit a car of this age.
In a few places, for example, a small bit of paint is visible on a rubber. These are not issues that detract from the overall neat appearance of the car, but we do mention them for an as honest as possible picture.
The bottom has been welded in the past. For a Beetle from 1965, now over 60 years old, that is not unusual. The car is honestly photographed so the buyer can assess the condition themselves.
TECHNICAL:
The Beetle is equipped with the 1200 cc air-cooled boxer engine.
The engine starts instantly and runs well. The car drives very pleasantly and gives a nice and reliable impression while driving.
A wonderful classic Beetle to cruise and fully enjoy the character of a Volkswagen from this period.
INTERIOR:
The interior is one of the strong points of this Beetle.
The car features a beautiful and very well-kept interior, with the original atmosphere of the car well preserved. The interior fits beautifully with the character and look of this 1965 model.
For the enthusiast who values an original and neat classic, this is a particularly attractive specimen.
DOCUMENTS:
The most remarkable thing about this Beetle may be the enormous amount of historical documentation.
Among other things, the following are present with the car:
• The original delivery certificate from 1965
• The original purchase receipt from 1965
• Various technical inspection documents
• Old registration certificates
• Various other historical documents
The original purchase receipt even states that the first owner traded in a Volvo Amazon from 1957 when buying this Beetle. It is precisely this kind of original document that makes the history of a car tangible and particularly interesting for a enthusiast or collector.
The Beetle is equipped with a Dutch license plate.
Sale abroad is possible; export documents will be provided as needed. Transport to the buyer's home address can also be arranged if desired.
For overseas buyers we always advise checking in advance the registration and technical requirements of the relevant country. These may differ by country.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
