Leone Frollo (Venice, April 9, 1931 – Venice, October 17, 2018) was one of the greatest Italian cartoonists.
He debuted in 1948 with a western comic story titled Sui grandi laghi in the magazine Il Risveglio. In 1953 he began collaborating with another school newspaper, Corriere dello Scolaro, thanks to the illustrator Giorgio Bellavitis, to whom he succeeded in illustrating the tale "La strada senza fine".
In 1958 he graduated in architecture.
From 1958 to 1968, through the studio of Rinaldo D'Ami, he worked with the English publishing house Fleetway for which he produced numerous sentimental and war comics, among which Battler Britton.
In 1963, Frollo published in Corriere dei Piccoli the story "Guerra agli invisibili".
In 1966, he created Melody John for S.E.P.I.M. and in 1969-1970 the western La Vedova Nera and other stories for the Italian-French publications Wampus and Bob Lance. In the same years he contributed to the German publication Perry Rhodan.
With the pocket erotica comic epic, from the second half of the sixties and for all the seventies, he discovers his fortunate vein creating heroines such as Lucifera, Snow White, Yra, Naga, Casino. For Edifumetto by Renzo Barbieri he also creates the science fiction for boys Fan.
In the eighties, he collaborated with the weekly Lanciostory and Skorpio and gave life to Mona Street for Glamour International. At the same time he produced illustrations and short stories for Glamour Magazine and Diva.
