Description from the seller
Myanmar (Burma) Rough Ruby – 223.10 ct – Untreated
For auction, an exceptional and imposing natural rough ruby from the famous mines of Myanmar (Burma), the cradle of the world’s finest rubies.
This specimen stands out for its extraordinary carat weight of 223.10 carats (44.62 g) and features the characteristic hexagonal shape typical of the crystallographic system of corundum. The crystal shows a vivid purplish-red color and responds spectacularly to direct light (as visible in the photo), revealing the typical and intense red fluorescence due to chromium.
The gem is completely natural and untreated, a fundamental characteristic that preserves its collectible value and geological authenticity. It presents natural inclusions and surface veins typical of rough material extracted from the mother rock. An ideal piece for collectors of rare minerals, investors, or to be cut by expert lapidaries.
