Subsequently, from 1902, large quantities of inexpensive raw movements were also imported from the Swiss company "Le Coultre & Cie." from Châtel in a low production stage and upgraded with components of the Glashütte precision watchmaking, such as with Breguet hairsprings, compensation escapements, and swan-neck fine regulation. At the same time, these watches also feature moustache balance with visible pallets in the Glashütte gold alloy, but also in steel. The Glashütte escapement is occasionally used.
The bridge movement has 15 jewels and a diameter of 42.3 mm, corresponding to 19 ligne. The height of the movement is 7.7 mm. The movements are finely grained gold-plated.
Complete with original case and guarantee card, an issued, open precision pocket watch from the J. Assmann company with a bridge movement in a gold case with fineness 585. The manufacture of watches with these movements began at the J. Assmann company only in 1902. The raw movements were supplied exclusively by the Swiss company Le Coultre and finished finely in the J. Assmann firm. With a bridge movement of 15 jewels, a compensation balance with gold screws, a Breguet spring with terminal curve, and a escapement with moustache anchor. The grain-gold movement was produced without Rücker fine regulation, which does not signify a loss of quality, as the regulation was done using the designated gold screws in the balance ring. With the work and case number, this is one of the earliest still-preserved precision pocket watches
of the J. Assmann firm with a bridge movement, made in 1902/1903.
