Description from the seller
Louis XV-style Game Table – Checkerboard top and drawer
Elegant square gaming table, with a checkerboard made by alternating the direction of the wood grain. Its rounded-corner frame, serpentine belt, and four curved legs give it a lot of charm.
It features a large integrated drawer under the top, convenient for storing games or small accessories. Its brown and honey tones and its patina bring a warm touch to an interior. It can also serve as an occasional table.
Specifications:
- Style: Louis XV.
- Estimated period: first half of the 20th century, around 1930–1940,
- Material: wood, with checkerboard decorative top.
- Presumed wood species: oak for the top decoration, based on visible grain; the species of the frame and surrounding structure remains to be confirmed.
- Country of origin: France
- Colors: brown, honey and dark brown.
- Dimensions: 75 × 75 cm; height: 70 cm.
Good overall condition, with signs of wear related to age and use: scratches, marks and color variations, notably on the top. These signs of age contribute to its character and should be taken into account when assessing its condition.
