Description from the seller
An elegant antique Swedish teapot made of solid 830 silver, produced by H. Moberg of Stockholm during the first half of the 20th century.
The piece bears the maker's hallmark H. MOBERG, together with the traditional Swedish three-crown assay mark and additional markings on the underside. The H. Moberg workshop was registered in Stockholm between 1913 and 1941, placing this teapot within an interesting period of Scandinavian silversmithing.
The silver fineness of 830/1000 has been confirmed
The teapot has an elegant cylindrical body, a long, gently tapering spout and a beautifully curved black handle, contrasting with the silver surface. It rests on decorative feet featuring finely detailed shell-like ornamentation, lending a distinctive character to its otherwise restrained design. The removable, slightly domed lid is finished with a small ornamental finial.
The combination of its clean geometric proportions, traditional decorative elements and contrasting materials is characteristic of early 20th-century Scandinavian silverware.
The teapot weighs 650 grams in total, including the handle and lid.dimensions are approximately 15 cm in height, 27 cm in overall length from spout to handle, and 14 cm in body diameter.
The piece remains in good antique condition, showing natural signs of age and use, including minor surface scratches, areas of patina and some wear to the underside. These are consistent with its age and historical character. The decorative elements, handle, spout and original-style lid are all present, as shown in the photographs.
The total weight includes non-silver components. Please examine the photographs carefully, particularly the hallmarks and surface details, as they form an integral part of the description.
