Description from the seller
Rare and authentic Roberval balance from the Béranger house in Lyon dating from the late 19th century. The Béranger house, created in 1847 by Joseph Béranger, is one of the most prestigious and famous manufacturers of weighing instruments in French history.
This high-end commercial balance is entirely original. Its complete condition and its aesthetics give it the status of a rare object in the weighing sector.
We are including with this superb balance a lot of brass weights.
We are also including a rare apothecary set comprising a small Roberval balance in cast iron with brass pans, as well as a collection of porcelain weights dating from the 19th century. Some of them are signed Henri Gros Nyon Suisse (Brevet in 1899).
This fine set is in good condition despite a few nicks on the weights.
The set of the two balances is in good condition.
