Love
Tsuyoshi Mochizuki etc
Futabasha/1973/Japanese/210*230*18
This book is a collection of catalog works published on the occasion of the “Theme: Love” exhibition held in 1973 as part of the exhibition organized by the Japan Advertising Photographers' Association (APA). The text at the beginning of the book by Shotaro Akiyama, president of the APA, says, “The festive ‘Great Nude Photo Exhibition (’71)‘ was followed by the shocking ’Scandal. Exhibition ('72),” followed by the shocking ”Scandal. And this year's APA exhibition, with the rather sweet motif of 'love'”. Certainly, the previous two years' exhibitions were unique but also somewhat extreme, and the overall collection of works was challenging, but this year's exhibition is full of feminine colors. The first half of the collection was open to the general public, while the middle and second half were works by members, and included popular photographers active in the commercial scene at the time, such as Shohei Asai, Hideki Fujii, and Umihiko Konishi; big names such as Shotaro Akiyama and Masaya Nakamura; and, as an oddity, Fumiya Nishimaru, famous for his private photographs of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, The list also includes such notables as Nishimaru Fumiya, famous for his private photographs of John Lennon and Yoko Ono, and Mochizuki Tsuyoshi, known for his book “Feieton 《Miscellany》”.
