Description from the seller

This vintage ceramic lot includes three table art pieces in Fat Lava or West German style, highly representative of European pottery production from the 1960s and 1970s. The set consists of a small pitcher, a cup and a large jug, all finished in stunning contrasting thick and running volcanic glazes. The small pitcher features a satin black body highlighted by a wide bright orange band bordered with a turquoise blue line, completed with an angular handle. The matching cup displays a frothy red and white glaze on a dark brown background. The large jug stands out with dramatic running fuchsia pink and ochre yellow glazes dripping over a glossy chocolate brown base. The small pitcher measures 21 cm in height, with a maximum width of 17 cm, a depth of 11 cm and carries an individual weight of 700 g. The cup features a height of 7 cm with a rim diameter of 11 cm and weighs 400 g. The large jug measures 25 cm in height, with a rim diameter of 9 cm, a base diameter of 13 cm and carries an individual weight of 1150 g, bringing the combined total weight of the lot to 2250 g on the scale. The base of the large jug features the stylized hand-incised signature Vallauris engraved into the fresh clay before firing, while the two other pieces bear no visible markings underneath their bases. The entire set remains in very good overall vintage condition, free of any noticeable cracks or chips. Shipping is exclusively reserved for mainland European Union member countries, and no delivery can be guaranteed to island destinations or overseas territories.
