Megalodon specimen from Indonesia dating to the Quaternary–Pleistocene (2.58–0.0117 million years ago), in natural condition, authentic/original, weighing 285 g and measuring 13.5 cm high by 9 cm wide by 3.5 cm deep, with a uniquely pathologically deformed crown and visible bourrelet.
Description from the seller
A particularly distinctive and characterful specimen of Otodus megalodon, with a striking pathologically deformed crown that immediately sets this tooth apart from regular Megalodon teeth.
The crown shows an unusual asymmetric shape and strong natural distortion, combined with beautiful gold, honey, and dark brown color tones. The clear vertical growth lines run across the enamel and emphasize the crown's unusual structure. Along both cutting edges the fine natural serrations are still nicely present.
Also the bourrelet is clearly visible and displays a rich, dark gold-brown mineralization. The heavy, massive root has an authentic fossil character and forms an impressive contrast with the lighter crown.
What really makes this tooth special is not only its size of 13.6 cm, but above all the natural pathological deformation. This kind of deviation occurred during the tooth's development and makes such specimens particularly interesting for collectors who are looking for unique and unusual Megalodon fossils.
