Description from the seller
A dining service produced in the 1960s or 1970s by the C.P. Faenza manufactory in Ironstone (a type of strong, durable earthenware, similar to English stoneware).
The service is decorated with a landscape scene in white and blue tones, in the style of English ceramics.
The set consists of:
9 dinner plates
9 soup plates
9 appetizer or dessert plates
Faenza pottery has been famous since the High Middle Ages for its extraordinary quality and capacity for innovation. In the Italian postwar period, many new manufactories were founded in the Faenza area to try to offer new products for Italian tables. They are mainly manufactories that do not have industrial production and last only a few years. Indeed, competing and historic industries such as the Richard Ginori manufactory and SCI Laveno would come to dominate the entire market.
