HISTORY / OVERVIEW
The Alfa Romeo 1900 represents a fundamental model in the Milanese brand’s history. It was the first Alfa Romeo produced in large series on a production line, the first equipped with a self-supporting body, and the first to feature left-hand drive as standard.
The example offered at auction is a 1952 model and belongs to the early versions of the 1900, as evidenced by the very low chassis number. Delivered new in Italy, the car retains its original birth engine and original plates, elements that characterize its historical interest. It is also equipped with CRS ASI and Fiches ACI Storico and is eligible for Mille Miglia.
EXTERIOR
The paintwork has been recently professionally restored, as documented by the numerous photos in the auction, and presents in beautiful condition. The chromed trim, restored in the past, is bright and solid. Other period details and features remain in good condition.
A polishing and detailing treatment has recently been completed, further enhancing the appearance of the body.
The underbody was restored in the past and is generally very solid, as is the entire vehicle structure. A film thickness test showed no signs of collisions.
INTERIOR
The cabin is in excellent condition, with minimal signs of wear, and is complete and usable. The seats are well preserved, as are the door panels and the headliner. The dashboard is complete and original; period detail and elements are present and well preserved. The steering wheel, knobs and other small components are well cared for and refined. A complete interior sanitization has also recently been performed.
MECHANICS
The engine is the original birth engine as shown on the chronology extract and on the registration document; it has been kept in working order and maintained, and with regular ignition, starts easily and is usable. The gearbox is functioning as is the clutch; gears operate correctly and brakes are present and in order for road use. The technical inspection was passed without defects in July 2025 and is valid until July 2027, and the car is in good standing for road circulation and drivable; a normal check is always recommended before regular use.
The 1952 Alfa Romeo 1900 offered at auction stands out for belonging to the early series, the very low chassis number, and the preservation of the original birth engine and plates. The presence of CRS ASI, Fiches ACI Storico, and the possibility of Mille Miglia registration complete the historical profile of this example, characterized by a restored body and well-preserved interiors.

Disclaimer
Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
