Box - Wood, Leather - Remember you will die.

An interesting decorated box bearing themes from 'Memento Mori' (remember you must die), probably made in the 20th century. The box features elegant carved decoration on all four sides. On the lid is painted a beautiful trompe l'oeil—a white sheet attached with wax-lacquer to a wooden panel. Inside, on the bottom, a human skull is painted, and to the left there is a rose made of leather. It is a very original object; I don’t know its use. The item shows the inevitable signs of time, but no serious damage that would spoil its beauty. Fast and secure shipping.
